NCB Capital Impact Technical Assistance Programs Overview
Coming Home Program (now sunset, graduated by the Center for Excellence in Long Term Supports)
Sector: Affordable Assisted Living
Funded by a $6.5 million grant from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), the Coming Home Program was established to provide grant support, technical assistance, and loan funds to states to create affordable models of assisted living targeted to low-income seniors and linked with existing community health care systems.
THE GREEN HOUSE® Replication Initiative
Sector: Long-Term Care
In late 2005, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation awarded NCB Capital Impact with a five-year, $10 million grant to support the widespread adoption of the "Green House," an innovative model for skilled nursing care. Green House is a total rethinking of the architecture, organization, staffing and philosophy of care normally associated with nursing homes. The grant allows us to provide technical assistance and pre-development loans to organizations that want to establish a Green House. Within the next five years, we plan to establish at least one Green House in every state, making it convenient for stakeholders across the country to visit one and consider adopting the model for their own operations.
Shared Equity Homeownership
Sector: Affordable Shared Equity Homeownership
Building on its successful history in cooperative housing finance, NCB Capital Impact launched Together We Can in late 2003. Together We Can has now developed into a national shared equity initiative in partnership with several national organizations with similar missions. Together we are working to educate and demonstrate that shared equity models are an effective means to preserve affordable housing and create sustainable homeownership opportunities for low to moderate income families.
