Village to Village Symposium comes to Washington, D.C. October 26
REGISTER BELOW TODAY. SPACE LIMITED.The VtV Network will be conducting a Village to Village Symposium on Monday, October 26, 2009
in Washington, DC. This symposium will provide an opportunity for community leaders and
professionals creating and operating Villages in communities nationwide to learn more about the
model and share insights with peers.
The symposium will provide two concurrent workshop tracks to expand the peer to peer learning opportunities. Attendees seeking to learn more about how to start a Village will have an opportunity to learn about Village creation and start up activities. Village participants from the forty-eight operating Villages will also have an opportunity to meet with their peers to discuss strategies to enhance their operations.

> Fundraising, Marketing, Volunteers, Staffing, Budgets, member management
Concurrent Workshop Track Two:
Best Practices for Open Villages: Facilitated Discussion on Key Operation Solutions
Topics to be covered through facilitated discussion:
> Strategic Planning – creating long term goals and operational strategies for your Village
> Networking
> Expanding the diversity of membership
> Developing strategies to expand services
> How to provide and integrate services for low/moderate income members
> Striking the Balance: How to find the balance between Volunteers and paid Staff
Participants are asked to register for the concurrent workshop track that best meets their current
level of operations. Please see our draft agenda below to learn more about this event. The symposium
will provide ample opportunity for peer to peer discussions and information exchange.

A small room block has been secured at the Kellogg Conference Hotel at a room rate
of $169.00/night. To make reservations, participants must call the hotel directly and
specify the "Village to Village Symposium" event in order to recieve the group rate.

Symposium Admission Fee:
$125 per person until September 25th, 2009
$150 per person after September 25th, 2009

Cancellation policy:
All cancellation/refund requests must be received in writing by October 16, 2009. There
will be a cancellation fee of $25. No refunds will be processed 10 days or less before the
event, but you may transfer your registration to another individual. Please put this request in
